In early 2019, Future Communications approached us to implement their new bespoke website. Their area of expertise includes comprehensive PR campaigns for cultural projects and events, and the website was supposed to tell the world about their work and also reflect the innovative approach.
The visual mockups were provided amongst the other materials, so we have started with adaptive HTML layout for any device and screen resolution, using already existing corporate identity kit.
The main website section is Portfolio. Each project page contains not just a description, but also the key figures, as well as a gallery, with vertical and horizontal photos automatically placed according to the layout.
For content management, we used our own development – The Vault Admin Panel. The interface of the panel allows editing any entities and website settings easily.
One of the key features of this website is an interactive HTML5-canvas, which allows drawing. The blocks with the Future Communication logo appear following the cursor and just a single mouse click clears everything. Also, we have optimised this website feature so that it works flawlessly and isn’t resource-intensive, as it could be with a canvas.
Another interesting feature is a stylised map, which matches the website appearance. It works as a normal Google Map through the API but looks unique with custom dark colours and a custom pin.
In 2020, the project was continued by implementing multilingual support. Not just the static captions and heading were translated, but a brand new data structure was created, allowing to manage content in two languages.
